Style (And Everything Else) Icon: Vashti Bunyan

Hello everyone!
Today I thought I'd share with you one of my most important icons: Vashti Bunyan. She is this amazing, English artist that originally released an album in 1970 that garnered very little following, and she halted her music career; however, in the 90s she got quite a cult following that she actually reignited her career and has been releasing music since.

She has the most beautifully haunting voice I have ever heard. Her music is simple and serene. It is gorgeous.

I could write paragraphs upon paragraphs of how inspired I am by her, but I think I'll leave this one shorter and show you some images (and some songs) that inspire me to no end.

Inspired Outfits

In the 60s, she had an effortless, menswear, mod style. I made a few outfits inspired by this! ^^

I hope you are having a lovely Tuesday afternoon.

Take care,

One Month of College

I guess it is now becoming customary for me to start off a post with a webcam selfie!
I think it's interesting to see how I change over time--or maybe I'm just super conceited. Either or, it's fun.

My original idea was to make a post comprising different pictures and things that have happened since coming to university, but that was shot when I realized most of my photos have been on disposable cameras that haven't been developed yet! So the most I can offer you are some little tid-bits from my instagram.

This post is going to be incredibly long (I apologize!) but I have just been so busy with amazing people doing amazing things so there is quite a bit to say.

Moving In

My Roommate & I!!

My Dad & I!!
Moving in was one of the weirdest experiences I have ever had. It was so exciting to finally be living out the experience I had been dreaming about, but at the same time heart-wrenching. I live on the twelfth floor of my dorm, which is both amazing and terrible. We thankfully have elevators, so I don't have to take the stairs everyday, but getting down to the first floor in the morning is terrible considering the fact that most people are leaving at the same times, so it stops on almost all of the floors.

Cool Kids

I've met some of the coolest people here, and I am so incredibly thankful to know every single one of them. My freshman class alone has over 5k people, so you can imagine that there are people from all walks of life here. It's so amazing to meet people with such crazy and diverse interests and personalities. I've spent so much time talking about nonsense and philosophy with these people while lying in the grass by the river (did I mention the Mississippi runs straight through campus? How cool is that?)

Coffee, Selfies, & Live Music

To celebrate the autumnal equinox (and general curiosities), my friends and I had a little themed ouija-board party. The dress code was feminist bookstore:

In the twin cities there's a crazy-fantastic music scene, and so my goal is to see as many shows as my wallet can possibly afford. So far I have been to only a few, but I have quite a few more already lined up in the future. I have been living on caffeine (hello, no sleep) and the coffee here is great, considering there's a little coffee shop on every corner--if not multiple.

Overall, I've fallen in love with Minneapolis and where I am in life right now.

All my love,

Megan
